Yes, I do! I’ll be happy to mail gift cards or you may meet me at the clinic to pick up in person.
-
Many people prefer to be completely nude when they receive a massage, while others prefer to keep their undergarments on. It's completely up to you, and you are encouraged to undress to your level of comfort.
Tight-fitting or bulky undergarments can sometimes get in the way of the massage, especially if your problem areas are the low-back, buttocks, or hips. Women usually remove their bras so no straps are in the way of back and shoulder massage.
Licensed massage therapists must ensure that clients are always properly covered by a sheet or towel, genitals will never be exposed, and only the specific areas being massaged will be uncovered.
-
Your first time will take longer than a normal appointment. I’ll have an in-take form for you to fill out and we will discuss your needs to implement goals for your massage journey.
-
Yes, you receive the full amount of treatment time that you pay for. It is important to arrive 10 min before your appointment to allow time to discuss your needs. You are not charged for the intake and interview process, or the time it takes you to dress, but it is important to arrive early to ensure that your appointment time is spent on the table.
-
Although LMTs in AL are not able to accept insurance, many plans do cover massage therapy with a doctor’s prescription and copies of receipts. I will email you an invoice with the proper codes that you may forward to your insurance company to begin the reimbursement process.
-
In order to have the ability to provide these services, we have a day before cancelation policy. The fee is 50% of the appointment cost. You may send someone in your place to avoid the fee. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring the continuance to serve.
-
Tipping is neither required nor expected, but of course we appreciate the gesture! I do not depend on tips, but if you would like to leave a tip, simply add the gratuity at checkout.
The best appreciation you can show is by referring your friends and family to me and letting them know about the amazing benefits of massage therapy! Also, Google reviews are highly beneficial to the growth of my business.
-
You will experience the greatest benefits from your session if you just allow yourself to become quiet and relaxed...which helps your massage therapist focus on providing a great massage!
Definitely communicate with your therapist if you feel any pain or discomfort, if you have any concerns during your massage, or if there is anything your massage therapist can do to make you more comfortable. Some types of massage that work on deep layers of muscle and tissue, such as deep tissue or sports massage, will require more feedback to ensure that the pressure is not uncomfortable.

Feel free to call or text me at 256-457-0171 or go to my online booking site at https://leah-varner.square.site/
We can discuss your issues, health concerns and needs via telephone, zoom call or text messaging prior to your appointment to ensure you get the best care possible!
-
Though I do not take walk-ins, I’m happy to do a same day appointment if I have the availability. Online booking will not allow same day booking. You must call or text.

I do not have the setup for couple’s massage. However, I have several couples who come together. One relaxes in a comfy chair with an herbal foot soak and hot tea while viewing their partner’s massage. Then they swap out! It’s always a fun experience for all involved.
-
I encourage open communication about your preferences and comfort. If anything needs to be adjusted, or if I’m almost (but not quite) getting the right spot, just speak up and let me know right away!
However, it is a myth that massage therapy needs to hurt in order to be effective. Some of the most effective techniques involve very light, gentle touch. Often, too much pressure can cause muscles to tighten further, and detract from the effectiveness of your treatment.
-
Of course! We don’t want you lying there uncomfortable and preoccupied, so feel free to take care of it.
-
Yes, absolutely let your massage therapist know if you do not want to be touched in a specific area or in a certain way. You don’t have to give us any details, and you have the right to ask to take a break or end your massage all together at any time, for any reason.
-
Yes, please let your massage therapist know right away.

A massage will likely just make you feel worse. If you are sick, you may get your therapist sick and pass it on to other clients that day. Even if you are giving less than a 24 hour notice, we prefer you reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell, so let us know as soon as possible.

Our professional ethical code of conduct that requires us to make sure boundaries are clear, and massage therapist-client relationships must be kept professional, or be terminated if things become personal. Additionally, I have a zero tolerance policy and any sexual advances, innuendo, or inappropriate touching is grounds for immediate termination of your session.
-
No, not even as a joke. This is disrespectful to your massage therapist and our profession. Additionally, I have a zero tolerance policy and any sexual advances, innuendo, or inappropriate touching is grounds for immediate termination of your session.
-
Arousal is a natural parasympathetic response, so don’t feel guilty. However, understand that it was not your massage therapist’s intention to arouse you. Our professional ethical code of conduct that requires us to make sure boundaries are clear. If there is a distracting technique or motion that aroused you, it is okay to tell your therapist to stop that motion. Just to be clear, I do have a zero tolerance policy and any sexual advances, innuendo, or inappropriate touching is grounds for immediate termination of your session.
Frequently Asked Coaching Questions
What exactly is Organic Intelligence®?
Organic Intelligence® (OI) is a nervous-system-informed approach that supports resilience, self-organization, and post-traumatic growth.
Rather than focusing primarily on what's wrong or trying to force change, OI helps us notice what is happening in the present moment and strengthen the experiences that support greater ease, connection, capacity, and aliveness.
At the heart of the work is a simple idea:
Your system already has an intelligence that knows how to move toward greater organization.
Our work is about learning to recognize and support it.
Organic Intelligence® is part of the broader field of body psychotherapy and is represented within the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP) UNITED STATES ASSOCIATION FOR BODY PSYCHOTHERAPY (USABP) - USABP, a professional organization dedicated to the development and practice of body-centered approaches to psychological healing and human transformation.
How is Organic Intelligence different from traditional therapy or other approaches to personal growth?
Many approaches ask us to analyze our experiences, change our thoughts, revisit difficult memories, or work hard to overcome patterns.
OI takes a different starting point.
We pay attention to the whole person and the nervous system in the present moment—including sensations, impulses, emotions, movement, breath, environment, and relationship.
Rather than forcing an experience to change, we gently support the conditions in which your system can begin to organize itself differently.
The goal isn't to fight your patterns. It's to create the conditions for something new to become possible.
Do I have to talk about my trauma or difficult experiences?
No.
You don't have to retell painful stories or repeatedly revisit the past for this work to be meaningful.
Your history matters, but it doesn't have to be the center of every session.
We can work with what is happening right now—what you're noticing, sensing, experiencing, and discovering in the present moment.
Sometimes the past naturally becomes relevant. When it does, we can meet it gently and without forcing anything.
What actually happens during an Organic Intelligence coaching session?
There isn't a script you have to follow.
We begin with what is alive for you right now.
You might talk about something happening in your life. You might notice a sensation, emotion, image, impulse, or shift in your body. I may invite you to slow down and become curious about something you're experiencing.
We may notice your environment, your senses, your breath, movement, or subtle changes in your experience.
The work is conversational, experiential, and collaborative.
You don't have to perform, produce an insight, or figure anything out.
Do I need to know what I want to work on before I come?
Not at all.
You don't need to arrive with a goal, diagnosis, breakthrough, or perfectly articulated problem.
You can simply arrive as you are.
Together, we can become curious about what your system is communicating and what may be ready to unfold.
How quickly will I notice a difference?
There isn't one timeline that applies to everyone.
Some people notice a greater sense of space, ease, grounding, or connection during their very first session. For others, changes emerge gradually as their system has repeated experiences of safety, connection, and capacity.
This isn't about forcing yourself to change faster.
We're interested in supporting sustainable change that your system can actually integrate.
Is Organic Intelligence only for people who have experienced trauma?
No.
OI can be particularly supportive for people navigating the effects of trauma or chronic stress, but you don't need to identify as traumatized to benefit from this work.
You might simply feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, exhausted, or like you've been living primarily from your head.
You might also be doing relatively well and simply want to develop greater capacity for connection, enjoyment, creativity, presence, and aliveness.
The work isn't only about recovering from what happened.
It's also about supporting what wants to grow.
Can Organic Intelligence help with anxiety, overwhelm, or chronic stress?
OI can be supportive for people experiencing patterns of chronic stress, anxiety, overwhelm, and nervous-system dysregulation.
Rather than treating these experiences as something you need to conquer, we become curious about what your system is doing and support its capacity to move toward greater organization and ease.
This is especially important to the Rose Hearth approach:
You don't have to fight your nervous system to change your relationship with it.
Does this mean I have to “feel everything” in order to heal?
No.
You don't have to force yourself into intense emotional experiences.
In fact, the work often begins with something much simpler: noticing what feels neutral, pleasant, interesting, supportive, or even enjoyable.
A beautiful sound.
The feeling of your feet on the floor.
A moment of laughter.
A sense of spaciousness.
A breath that feels a little easier.
These experiences matter.
Ease isn't a distraction from healing. It can be part of the pathway.
What if I'm already doing well?
Then there may be even more to explore.
Organic Intelligence isn't only about resolving what's difficult.
When life is going well, we can learn to notice, receive, and integrate what's working so that positive experiences have a chance to become part of your deeper baseline.
We don't have to wait until something falls apart to develop greater capacity for joy, connection, creativity, and resilience.
Is Organic Intelligence therapy?
This is an important distinction for Rose Hearth.
Rose Hearth offers coaching informed by Organic Intelligence®, not psychotherapy.
Coaching is appropriate for personal growth, self-awareness, resilience, nervous-system education, and exploring what becomes possible when you relate to yourself differently.
If someone is experiencing an acute mental-health crisis or needs clinical mental-health treatment, coaching may not be the appropriate level of support. In those situations, seeking a licensed mental-health professional or other qualified provider is important.
What if I don't know whether coaching is right for me?
You don't have to know before reaching out.
We can begin with a conversation about where you are, what you're experiencing, and what you're hoping for.
There is no pressure to decide anything before you're ready.
You can simply start where you are.
Frequently Asked Breathwork Questions
What is breathwork?
Breathwork is the intentional use of breathing patterns to influence the body, nervous system, attention, and overall state of being. Depending on the practice, breathwork can be calming and restorative, energizing and activating, or deeply experiential.
My approach to breathwork is grounded in helping you develop a more connected relationship with your body and nervous system rather than forcing a particular experience or outcome.
What happens during a breathwork session?
Each session is different depending on your needs and the type of breathwork we are practicing. You may be guided through specific breathing patterns, movement, sound, pauses, meditation, or periods of quiet awareness.
Some sessions are gentle and regulating, while others may involve more active breathing. We work together to find an appropriate level of intensity for you, and you are always encouraged to adjust, slow down, pause, or return to your natural breathing.
What can breathwork help with?
Breathwork may support relaxation, stress regulation, body awareness, emotional processing, energy and vitality, improved breathing patterns, and a greater sense of connection with yourself.
Some people also use breathwork as a way to explore patterns of tension, emotion, or holding that are difficult to access through conversation alone.
Breathwork isn't about making something happen. Often, the most meaningful changes come from learning to notice what is already happening within you.
Do I have to do intense breathwork to benefit?
Not at all. Breathwork does not have to be intense, cathartic, or emotionally dramatic to be meaningful.
Gentle breathing practices can be incredibly powerful for developing awareness, supporting regulation, and helping the body experience a greater sense of safety and ease.
What might I experience during breathwork?
People can experience many different things, including relaxation, tingling, changes in temperature, emotional release, memories, imagery, shifts in perception, energy, or simply a deeper awareness of the body.
You may also experience very little. There is no particular experience you are supposed to have.
Will I be asked to share or process emotions?
Only if you want to. Breathwork can sometimes bring emotions or memories into awareness, but you are never required to disclose anything you aren't comfortable sharing.
We can work with what arises at the level that feels appropriate for you.
Is breathwork safe for everyone?
Different breathwork practices have different levels of intensity and different considerations. Certain medical and mental-health conditions, medications, pregnancy, cardiovascular concerns, seizure disorders, recent surgery, and other circumstances may affect which practices are appropriate.
Before participating in more activating breathwork, we'll discuss relevant health considerations so that the practice can be appropriately adapted. Breathwork is complementary care and is not a substitute for medical or mental-health treatment.
What should I wear or bring?
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to breathe and move easily. Depending on the session, you may spend time lying down, sitting, or moving gently.
You may want to bring water and anything that helps you feel comfortable, such as a sweater or layers.
What should I expect after a session?
You may feel relaxed, energized, emotionally open, grounded, tired, or simply more aware of yourself. Some people notice subtle shifts that continue to unfold over the following hours or days.
I encourage giving yourself some spaciousness after a session when possible rather than immediately rushing into the next thing.
Frequently Asked Craniosacral Therapy Questions
What is craniosacral (CST) therapy?
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands-on practice that works with the autonomic nervous system and the biorhythm of the brain and tissues and structures surrounding the brain and spinal cord. The work is typically performed with very light touch and is intended to support the nervous system and the body's natural capacity for regulation.
What does a craniosacral session feel like?
The touch is generally very gentle. You may feel warmth, movement, pressure, pulsing, spaciousness, or subtle changes in different areas of your body.
Sometimes people notice sensations that are difficult to describe. Other times, the experience simply feels deeply restful.
There is no particular sensation you need to feel for the session to be effective.
What happens during a session?
You remain fully clothed and typically lie comfortably on a massage table. I use gentle contact at different areas of the body while paying attention to subtle changes in tissue, movement, and rhythm.
The session is generally quiet and spacious. You are welcome to talk, ask questions, or remain quiet depending on what feels most supportive.
Is craniosacral therapy the same as massage?
No. While both are hands-on practices, the approach is very different.
Massage generally works more directly with muscles, fascia, circulation, and soft tissue. Craniosacral therapy uses much lighter touch and a more subtle approach.
Some clients find that craniosacral work complements massage beautifully, while others prefer it as a stand-alone session.
What can craniosacral therapy support?
People seek craniosacral therapy for support during many types of health conditions. Others seek CST care for relaxation, stress reduction, body awareness, and support during times of physical or emotional transition.
It may also be useful for people who feel overwhelmed by more vigorous forms of bodywork or who simply prefer a quieter, subtler approach.
Will you manipulate my neck or spine?
Craniosacral therapy does not involve forceful spinal manipulation or chiropractic-style adjustments.
The work is generally slow, gentle, and non-forceful.
Do I need to believe in craniosacral therapy for it to work?
No. You don't need to believe anything in particular.
You can simply approach the session with curiosity and notice what you experience in your own body.
Can I talk during a craniosacral session?
Absolutely. Communication is always welcome.
Some people prefer to talk and ask questions throughout the session, while others want to become quiet and inwardly focused. Either is completely appropriate.
What might I feel afterward?
Many people feel deeply relaxed or grounded after craniosacral work. You may also notice increased body awareness, changes in tension, fatigue, or a sense that something is continuing to settle or integrate.
As with any bodywork, experiences vary from person to person.
Are there situations where craniosacral therapy isn't appropriate?
There are circumstances where hands-on bodywork should be modified, postponed, or cleared with your healthcare provider. This can include certain acute medical conditions, recent injuries or surgeries, or other situations where gentle touch may not be appropriate.
We'll discuss anything relevant during your intake so the session can be adapted appropriately.
Frequently Asked Energy Work Questions
What is energy work?
Energy work is a broad term for practices that work with the subtle, energetic, and relational aspects of the human experience.
My approach is grounded in the understanding that our physical, emotional, mental, and energetic experiences are interconnected. Sessions may incorporate subtle touch, hands-off work, focused awareness, breath, stillness, and other practices depending on what feels appropriate for you.
What does an energy work session look like?
There isn't one single format.
You may remain fully clothed while lying or sitting comfortably. Some work may involve gentle touch, while other portions may be performed with my hands above or around the body without physical contact.
We may also incorporate breath, awareness, visualization, or quiet observation.
Do you have to believe in energy work?
No.
You don't need to subscribe to a particular spiritual or energetic framework to receive the work. You can approach it simply as an opportunity to slow down, become more aware of yourself, and notice your experience.
What might I experience during energy work?
Experiences vary widely.
Some people notice warmth, coolness, tingling, pulsing, heaviness, lightness, emotional shifts, imagery, relaxation, or a sense of spaciousness. Others don't notice much physically but leave feeling calmer or more grounded.
There is no "right" experience.
Is energy work spiritual?
It can be, but it doesn't have to be.
Energy work can be incorporated into a person's spiritual practice, but my sessions are not based on requiring a particular religious or spiritual belief system. The work can be approached from a somatic, contemplative, energetic, or spiritual perspective depending on the person.
Can energy work help with emotional experiences?
Energy work can provide a quiet space to become aware of emotions and bodily experiences that may be difficult to access through words alone.
Emotions may arise naturally during a session, but I don't attempt to force emotional release or interpret your experience for you. You remain the authority on what your experience means.
Will you tell me what you "sense" about me?
I may share observations about what I notice during a session, but I don't claim to know things about you that you haven't shared or make definitive statements about your life, health, relationships, or future.
My intention is to support your own awareness rather than position myself as the authority on your experience.
Is energy work a form of medical treatment?
No. Energy work is a complementary wellness practice and is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment.
If you have a medical concern, please seek appropriate care from a qualified healthcare professional.
Do I have to be touched?
No.
Touch is always discussed and consensual. If you prefer a hands-off session, that can be accommodated.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing is best. Energy work is generally performed fully clothed, so there is no need to undress.
How often should I receive energy work?
There isn't a prescribed schedule.
Some people come for occasional sessions when they feel the need for quiet, grounding, or reflection. Others choose to work together more regularly as part of a broader personal practice.
The frequency is ultimately up to you and can change as your needs change.
